NEUROSURGERY DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION
Deep brain stimulation is a surgical technique still in developement. It consists of the insertion of an electrical device called pacemaker, which sends electrical impulses through electrodes to certain parts of the brain, in order to treat deseases such as chronic pain, Tourette syndrome or Parkinson. It is very effective but can produce adversary effects such as hypersexuality , depression or cognitive dysfunction.
